Banderra is an historic farming property
steeped in the history of early farming settlements and explorers.
Originally known as Woodlark, the property boasts a creek
crossing used by Cobb & Co
during the early years of
settlement in the region. The coach roads are used on Banderra
today and the eastern extension track was used as the police "trooper"
link between Ironbark (Stuart Town), where they were stationed
and Bakers Swamp frequented by bushranger Ben Hall.
Banderra reflects our involvement in landcare with
many long established (as well as new) tree plantations as
we continue to preserve the pristine ecology and develop
bio diversity as part of a sustainable farming and grazing
system.
Apart from the on-property attractions we are ideally situated
to visit a number of local attractions as a gateway to and
from the west. More information can be found on our activities
page.
Part of the appeal of Banderra is our multi-award winning
garden that provides the perfect environment for a relaxing
and stress free break away from the hustle and bustle of
everyday life. You will find photos of our garden scattered
around our website and you can find additional ones by clicking
here.
